7 Best Anime Studios For Legend of Zelda
The prospect of seeing The Legend of Zelda animated on the big screen excites enthusiasts. But which anime studio is most suited for the job?
Nintendo appears ready to keep the money train going thanks to the success of The Super Mario Bros. Movie. What will be the next property to be adapted for the big screen? Will it be The Legend of Zelda or another Pokemon film that hits theatres?
Given the success of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the former franchise appears to be a safe choice. To attract fans, Nintendo may not need to aim as high as theatres. A small-screen adaptation might be fantastic, and these anime companies could work together to create a fantastic version of Link’s next great adventure.
MAPPA
MAPPA has done a lot of fantastic things in its rise to power over the last few years.Chainsaw Man, their smash success from 2022, effortlessly merged 2D and 3D animation. They prefer to focus on darker shows, therefore The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask might be an excellent game for them to adapt.
That is without a doubt the darkest game in the series about death and sadness. The hybrid art style would fit well with the odd environment Link is in. It’d be fun to see how eerie MAPPA could make the moon look.
Studio Ghibli
When it comes to high-profile animation studios, Studio Ghibli is an obvious pick. They are Japan’s Disney, with a slew of award-winning films under their belt. Their animation is second to none due to their extraordinarily high film budgets and the passion of the artists at work.
Fan mock-ups of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild in the Studio Ghibli style have already surfaced. It makes sense given that the cel-shaded art style resembles anime. Furthermore, several of the designs and ideas may have been inspired by their films, such as Princess Mononoke.
Studio Trigger
Studio Trigger arose from the ashes of another studio, Gainax, which produced hits including Fooly Cooly, Gurren Lagann, and Neon Genesis Evangelion. Kill la Kill, their first original title after founding, centred on a teenage high school girl hungry for vengeance. Her magical sailor girl costume could alter, and her warring classmates wore interchangeable outfits as well.
The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes would be an excellent game for them to adapt. In the game, the Links could put on costumes with varied skills. Studio Trigger understands how to make good attire and powerful female characters, so perhaps three versions of Zelda might replace the Links in the adaptation.
Sunrise
Sunrise has been around for a long time and is mostly responsible for animating the Gundam series. Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury is the series’ most recent form.Because of their mech obsession, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom would be an excellent game for them to adapt.
This is a tiny spoiler, but Link can be joined in the game by a fifth party member. They are immortalised in the form of a robot that Link may ride like a mech. The anime could be set in a restored version of Hyrule in which Purah has formed a mech force to patrol the kingdom.
Toei Animation
Toei Animation is yet another anime company that has been around almost as long as the medium itself. They have too many anime to name, but One Piece is their most popular right now. They should play The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker since they animate a lot of water.
In Happy Wheels game, players can sail about, but there are also several land segments. The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, the DS sequel, is more inventive, so that might be a better fit. They could potentially make the anime as the third installment in this sub-series.
Ufotable
Ufotable is a studio with fewer anime credits than some of the others on this list. The one that matters is Demon Slayer, which is massive. Their film alone shattered records that animation had never seen before in the West.
A spinoff in this series would perform better than a core title because they do a lot of stylistic action.Hyrule Warriors, original or sequel, may be a fantastic game for them to work on. It would also give the company more leeway in the lore department.
Wit Studio
Before being replaced, Wit Studio built a name for itself by covering the majority of the Attack on Titan arcs. Ranking of Kings, a more recent hot anime from them, looks unlike anything else on the market. It appears to be a cross between European cartoons and anime.
The charming aesthetic of the anime would go well with The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures, which also has a distinct style for the GameCube series.Ranking of Kings follows a young prince with a passionate adventurer’s spirit as he strives to become the strongest in the world. Following four young Links would be pretty similar in tone.
