NEET UG 2022: 52% Fall Among Top Scorers

Every year, the number of applicants for NEET-UG increases, making the competition more difficult. This year also a total of 18,72,343 aspirants has registered for the exam out of which only 9,93,069 aspirants have qualified the entrance exam. Altogether there were Top AIR 4 Toppers namely Tanishka, Vatsa Ashish Batra, Hrishikesh Nagbhushan Gangule and Rucha Pawashe scored equal marks i.e., 715 each. Despite the fact that all four top scorers received the same score (715), Tanishka was declared the topper using the NTA Modified Ranking Method since she falls under the OBC-NCL Category.
The seats will be allotted to students according to their merit & category.
For qualifying candidates, there are approximately 91,927 MBBS and 26,949 BDS seats available for this year.
The competition is quite challenging, and hardly 8% would get admissions in medical and dental colleges. There would be many students who missed the train by a minimal mark. They must be sure that in the second attempt, they can clear the NEET exam.

The NEET-UG 2022 has seen a 52% fall in top scorers, scoring 700 and above marks. A total of 99 candidates has secured 700 & above out of 720 marks compared to 2021 when there was a hike of 83%. The cut-off for MBBS/BDS admissions has hiked up this year as compared to 2021. It is because of the increase in the number of candidates applying for the exam in 2022.Score Level | 2021 | 2022 |
